ARTIST STATEMENT
My work is created through mixed-media drawing, collage and painting.
I am motivated by graphic, biomorphic forms and planes, derived from the geometry of automatic drawing. I torque and exaggerate them into unique shapes, unifying my pervasive background in fashion, an underlying influence on my perception and interpretation of contour and construct.
The images emerge as a process of metamorphosis. Each one in a different stage of layering, blooming, or bursting. They inadvertently take on divergent character traits, or emotions, engaging viewers to imagine their own chaotic narrative.
